CPR and AED training: how much do you need?

An AED guides you without training. A short course is what makes you start sooner.

You do not need a course to use a HeartStart

The voice prompts tell you every step, and the device will not shock a heart that does not need it. Training does not change what the AED does. It changes how quickly you start.

What a course gives you

  • Hands-on practice with chest compressions: the depth and pace are hard to judge the first time.
  • A dry run with a training AED, so the voice prompts are familiar.
  • Confidence to be the one who steps forward.

A combined CPR and AED course takes a few hours, and a refresher every two years keeps it fresh. See the training options in the store.
